FAQ’s about EGMTC AUDITIONS

Who auditions? Everyone who wants to be part of the cast.

When are auditions? Our next round of auditions will be in September 2026. Shows will be at the end of January 2027.

How do I signup?  If you are interested in joining EGMTC, send us a message at egmusicaltheatre@gmail.com to be added to the interest list.

Where are the audition materials? An email will be sent out with audition materials to everyone on the interest list, as well as shared on the Jr or Sr cast show web pages.

Which show should 12 or 13-year-olds audition for? Do you take performers under age 7? Sr Cast is for ages 12-18 and for Jr Cast, ages 7-13. 12 or 13 year-olds may choose the show in which they participate. We may direct them to one cast or another based on the needs of the casts. If you need more info. about this, contact Kate Nuttall or Felecia Przybyla.

What should I bring? Performers must fill out the registration form online to secure a spot in the show. Come to auditions prepared to have your photo taken, dance with a group, read lines, and sing a song.

What happens at auditions? Come prepared with a song and ready to perform lines (see audition tip email sent after signing up). If a performer wishes to audition for a specific role, they should sing a song of the character they wish to be. Specific songs, lines, and a small dance sequence to be used for your audition will be sent out after registration.

What should I sing?
Information will be provided for each show’s auditions.

Which lines should I practice for auditions? Practice the lines provided via email after signing up.

What happens after auditions? Callbacks will be scheduled individually if needed. We won’t be holding callbacks for all roles. Cast Lists will be posted via email within a week after auditions.

6 Tips for Auditions:

 1.  Learn about the musical you’re auditioning for.

2.  Pick a song that shows what part you are interested in.

3.  Practice, memorize and add actions appropriate for the song.

4.  Songs should be sung with the instrumental music provided. Performers may not sing to a track with background singers or words. We will have the music ready when they arrive to their audition time.

5. Come prepared to read lines - use good diction, make your voice sound interesting, and speak louder than normal conversation. Memorizing the lines is not required, but can help enhance acting elements during the audition.

6.  Be confident, takes lots of deep breaths, and do your best.

REMEMBER - Even if the director has seen you perform before - this is your chance to show something new that she might not know about you!
