FAQs Fall 2024 Auditions

What are the ages for each cast? Our Jr. Cast is for performers ages 7-13. We sometimes allow 6 year olds IF there is space, depending on attention span and independence. Our Sr. Cast is for performers ages 12-18. That means if you are 12 or 13, you can choose which cast to perform in.

Where will we perform? We will perform at the Rosemont High School Performing Arts Center.

Where will we rehearse? We will rehearse at Elk Grove area schools- Pleasant Grove High School and Albiani Middle School.

What is the cost to participate? $189/performer.

Is there a sibling discount? With the rising costs of everything related to our productions, we aren’t offering sibling discounts this season.

Do we have to wear masks? Masks are not currently required indoors. We will follow all Public Health Guidelines and school district policies. Currently this means we will not wear masks while rehearsing, but this could change. Please don’t sign up for the show if you are unable or unwilling to wear a mask over your mouth and nose if required. We are not interested in being the mask police, and it’s much harder to rehearse in masks, but we absolutely need to follow public health guidelines and will do so. The rules could change during the course of rehearsals. We don’t know if something will change and masks will be required for performances, but if we have to perform in clear masks, we will do it!

Are we rehearsing outdoors? We plan to rehearse indoors at Elk Grove area schools but still may rehearse outdoors on occasion.

Will we have a double cast? Sr. Cast Directors do not plan to split the casts, but we will likely do double casting of featured roles. The Jr. Cast show will most likely have 2 separate casts (based on the number of performers participating).

What if someone gets Covid? If anyone who recently attended an EGMTC rehearsal is diagnosed with Covid, we will follow public health rules about quarantining and contact tracing. We may or may not have Zoom rehearsals during that time. If a performer gets Covid during the shows, they will not be able to participate for at least 5 days (according to public health guidelines) and we will use an understudy in their absence.

What if I have to miss rehearsals? Rehearsals must be a priority for every performer. If you are worried about whether the show will fit into your life, this may not be a good season to join us. Still, we can’t have anyone who is even ‘a little sick’ joining us at rehearsals, so we are working to record choreography for those who may be under the weather, and so you can review what you have learned.

Do you need parent help? Absolutely! It’s how the EGMTC world turns. It is awesome to have an army of willing parents ready to make the ‘behind the scenes’ details of the show work. We’ll help parents find a volunteer opportunity that fits their life. In fact, our group’s success relies on each family contributing AT LEAST 10 hours towards a specific job. This commitment is mandatory.

Will we have an awesome show? Absolutely! EGMTC shows are great quality because of the hard work of our wonderful performers and directors and the many hours parents spend to make the show happen! 😊
